Description

These guidelines inform  county public participation practice in line with the County Government Act 2012 (Part VIII). They offer a practical approach for county governments to actively engage the public in policy making and planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and seeking redress through public petitions and referenda. The guidelines layout the duties and responsibilities of members of the public in public participation. They offer a set of minimum standards and principles that should be observed whenever a county facilitates public participation. The guidelines may be adapted to fit county contexts and circumstances in respect of their different political, economic, social, cultural and religious environments
