Access to information (ATI) - Understanding and implementing Kenya's ATI Act. Training for public officials: Participants book. AHADI. March 2018

Description

This training is designed to help  train public officials in understanding Kenya’s Access to Information (ATI) Law, why it is so important, and what its implementation means for them as public officials in terms of their rights and obligations under the law. The training aims to equip public officials to carry out their work roles while fulfilling the requirements of the ATI Act. The Act outlines what public officials must do in terms of receiving and responding to requests for information, as well as ensuring they carry out high quality records management so that information can be available when requested. The training aims to be a step in the direction of moving from a ‘system where information is withheld by default, to one where a system is open by default’ (ATI Training Guide, 2018). Includes a separate training guide and power point presentation.
