The Jukumu Langu civic education material presents the subject of devolution and public participation in an easy to read language with vivid illustrations and relevant examples. The opportunities for public participation are well articulated. The presentation of the material makes rich and enjoyable learning experiences at both individual and group levels.
The material may be used by national and county governments and by civil society organizations for civic education, and is intended to benefit to all stakeholders engaged in public service delivery. Its use and increased understanding of the contents will promote closer collaboration, consultation and communication between the two levels of governments’, civil society and citizens in policy formulation, budgeting and service delivery. Jukumu Langu was developed through a partnership between the State Department for Devolution and the Council of Governors.
